  • Clothing incorporated into memory quilts must be supplied by the client.  Items that are dry-rotted or thread-bare,stained * or
otherwise damaged or unstable cannot be used. I will provide all other materials. *-clothing that has stains on it can be used-stained areas will be discarded.

  • Please Note: Clothing supplied, and selected for use in the quilt cannot be returned. Not all materials supplied will be used
in the final design of each quilt, but may be used in other quilts for the same client, if requested. Remaining remnants of items supplied
will not be used in  projects for any other customer. Items supplied and not used in the creation of the quilt will be returned intact with
the completed quilt. When selecting clothes for submission,  100% cottons are preferred, but other materials such as wool, polyester,
linen and silks are workable. Certain obvious materials are NOT acceptable-vinyl, leather, fleece, sweater knits, etc. Jersey knits are
acceptable, but should be limited other than for use in t-shirt quilts. Baby clothes made from jersy knits are acceptable. Please email me regarding the
suitablity of questionnable items.

  • The types of fabrics used will dictate whether the finished quilt may be machine washed or must be dry cleaned.

  • Customers will have ample opportunity for style and color input at the beginning of their project, but the final design will be determined exclusively
by Kate Nichols Quilts after reviewing the fabrics supplied.

  • Hundreds of hours are spent on the construction of each quilt. Completion of a finished quilt can take many months. Quilts will be handled in the order
that the commissions are accepted. Prevailing conditions will be taken into account; however, projects requiring immediate action may be subject
to a RUSH FEE. If there is a specific date or occasion that your quilt is needed for please be sure to mention it up front.

  • A non-refundable 50% deposit is required in advance; the balance of the commissioned price is due upon completion,
prior to the finished quilt being shipped.  Kate Nichols Quilts currently accepts checks, US Postal  Service money orders, and for those who wish to use a
credit card, PayPal. Free Paypal accounts are available at www.paypal.com.

  • The construction of each quilt completely assembled by Kate Nichols Quilts is guaranteed. Normal “wear-and-tear” damage such as seam separation and/or
minor rips will be repaired at no charge for the life of the quilt. The customer will be responsible for return shipping fees on quilts sent for repair. Aging/fading
of the quilt is a normal process, however, and is not covered. Quilts should be kept out of direct sunlight. Damage and/or deterioration due to misuse or abuse
will not be covered. The condition of materials supplies by others cannot be controlled. All clothes that are received are inspected and
culled so that obviously unstable fabrics will not be selected for inclusion. Regardless, deterioration of the submitted fabrics is not
warranted. To extend the life of the quilt, it is important that it be handled and used with respect. Proper care & storage instructions will
be included in the return shipment of the final quilt.

  • Each completed quilt will have a personalized embroidered label sewn on.
Each customer will be able to have input into their label. If requested, labels
can be constructed so as to also double as a pocket where special notes,
objects, or even care instructions can be safely tucked away.
